In a significant crackdown on illegal sand mining, authorities seized 60 tons of sand valued at Rs 1,20,000 during a raid at ‘Sandeep Weigh Bridge, Sandeep Construction and Building Material’ in Jummerat Bazar in Hyderabad. The raid was conducted by the Commissioner’s Task Force, South West Hyderabad City, in collaboration with the Mandal Revenue Officer of Nampally Mandal.

The raid led to the arrest of K Santhosh Singh (37), who was found storing and selling sand without proper authorization. Singh had been using falsified documents to mislead authorities about the delivery locations of the sand, while actually dumping it in Hyderabad and selling it at inflated prices. The authorities have taken stringent measures to combat illegal sand mining and ensure compliance with regulations.
