A tragic incident occurred on Friday during YSR Congress Party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to Ibrahimpatnam, casting a shadow over the political engagement. The former Chief Minister had travelled from Tadepalli to Ibrahimpatnam to console former minister Jogi Ramesh, but the visit was marked by an unexpected death of a local party leader.

According to reports, D. Rambabu, president of the YSRCP unit in Chillakallu village, collapsed near Jogi Ramesh’s residence while making arrangements ahead of Jagan’s arrival. Eyewitnesses said Rambabu suddenly complained of discomfort and lost consciousness after his pulse dropped abruptly.

Party workers present at the spot rushed him to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared him brought dead upon arrival. The sudden demise of the senior party functionary left YSRCP workers and supporters in a state of shock.

Meanwhile, Jagan Mohan Reddy reached Jogi Ramesh’s residence shortly after the incident. He inspected the premises and met family members, offering his condolences and support. The visit was part of a previously planned programme to express solidarity with the former minister.

In another unfortunate development linked to the high-profile visit, a young man reportedly lost his life in a road accident. The incident occurred when he was performing stunts on a motorcycle near the route of Jagan’s convoy. The youth lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a barricade gate, resulting in fatal injuries. Police identified the deceased as Bhargav, a resident of Ibrahimpatnam. Authorities have initiated an inquiry into the accident and are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The twin tragedies have dampened the atmosphere in Ibrahimpatnam, where large numbers of party workers had gathered for Jagan’s visit. Senior YSRCP leaders expressed grief over the sudden loss of Rambabu and the young man, and conveyed their condolences to the bereaved families.
