Transport Minister and Hyderabad in-charge, Ponnam Prabhakar, announced grand plans for Ganesh Utsavalu 2025, emphasizing a vibrant and well-organized celebration. He chaired a high-level meeting at MCRHRD with key officials including GHMC Mayor Gadwala Vijaya Lakshmi, DGP Jitender, GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan, and police commissioners from Hyderabad, Cyberabad, and Rachakonda.

Stressing seamless coordination, the Minister called for proactive planning from all departments—GHMC, police, health, electricity, roads and buildings—to ensure smooth festivities. “We are implementing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s directive to review arrangements in three phases and improve upon last year’s celebrations,” he said.

Prabhakar noted that approximately one lakh Ganesh idols will be installed across the city, with 50,000 in Hyderabad alone. Around 70,000 are expected to be immersed at Tank Bund. To support this, additional cranes will be deployed, and traffic management will be tightened. “Each officer will be held accountable for their department’s performance,” he added.

He also directed departments to fix rain-damaged roads and take preventive steps against water stagnation and seasonal diseases. Special attention will be given to ensuring public health and smooth transportation during the celebrations.

Prabhakar urged commissioners to coordinate closely with lower-level staff to resolve traffic challenges and maintain Hyderabad’s positive image during the festival.
