In a significant development, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board is set to accept VIP recommendation letters from elected representatives of Telangana for darshan and accommodation at the temple. Each legislator will be given the facility to issue two letters per week.

An official announcement is awaited, but sources indicate that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has approved the decision in response to repeated requests from Telangana leaders since the TDP-led NDA government took office.

A TTD board member confirmed that the issue had been discussed in earlier meetings, but the final decision wrested with the Andhra Pradesh government. TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu, during his recent meetings with political leaders in Hyderabad, assured them that the matter was under the Chief Minister's consideration and that a resolution was imminent.

The lack of clarity on accepting Telangana MLAs', MLCs and MPs' recommendation letters had sparked frustration among legislators, as people from their constituencies regularly sought referrals for Lord Balaji darshan.

Some Congress legislators expressed concerns in the media earlier that their inability to provide these letters was causing dissatisfaction among the public, especially given the large number of Telangana devotees visiting Tirumala daily.

With the reported positive decision, Telangana representatives are optimistic that this will address public grievances and enhance the pilgrimage experience for the public from their segments. An official announcement is expected to provide further clarity on the implementation of this policy.
