Two offenders held in theft case, Rs 17 lakh recovered

Domalguda Police on Thursday, arrested two offenders who committed theft of Rs 17 lakh and recovered the total amount and seized two cell phones and two wheeler vehicle from them. Accused identified as (A-1) Jethin Raj Yadav (21), resident of Moosarambagh and (A-2) Souda Abhilash (18), resident of Malakpet.

Gopal Taparia (38) running a chit fund business, in which Jethin Raj Yadav (21) working as a collection boy for six months. On Wednesday Jethin was sent to Jubilee Hills to collect Rs 17 lakh from Pankaj Agarwal. Jethin collected an amount of Rs 17 lakh and placed it in a bag.

After 20 minutes, complainant Gopal attempted to contact Jethin, but his phone was switched off. Jethin contacted his father and was informed that he met with an accident at Tank Bund and that the bag containing the cash was missing.   During the enquiry, the supposed victim was questioned and the version of the A1 being contradictory and suspicious immediately teams were sent to verify the same.

The local enquiries and CCTV footage have proved that A1 has pulled up a story to create a scene of theft of cash when he accidentally fell down from bike on Tank Bund but in fact after collecting the amount from Pankaj Agarwal has handed over the bag to A2. He went to Gandhi hospital for treatment and came to PS acting as a victim.
