Two Telangana women killed in US road accident

Two young women from Mahabubabad district of Telangana were killed in a tragic road accident in California, the United States, causing deep grief in their hometowns.

The deceased were identified as Pullakhandu Meghana and Kadiyala Bhavana, both aged 24 and natives of Garla mandal in Mahabubabad district. The duo had travelled to the US to pursue higher education and had recently completed their Master’s degrees. They were reportedly in the process of searching for jobs.

According to reports, Meghana and Bhavana were on a trip in California along with eight friends, travelling in two separate vehicles. During the journey, the car in which the two women were travelling lost control, veered off the road and plunged into a gorge on Alabama Hills Road. Both died on the spot.

US authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the accident. Meanwhile, the families of the victims have appealed to the government for support to expedite the repatriation of the mortal remains. Meghana’s father runs a Mee-Seva centre in Garla, while Bhavana’s father is the deputy sarpanch of Mulkanoor village.
