CM Revanth urges Uber to come up with solutions for growing parking challenges in cities

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy urged Uber to focus on the growing parking challenges in major cities. The company was requested to come forward and take the initiative to establish multi-level parking facilities at identified areas. A delegation led by Uber Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dara Khosrowshahi met the Chief Minister at his residence in Jubilee Hills on Wednesday.
During the meeting, Dara Khosrowshahi briefed the Chief Minister about the Uber's business operations in Telangana and announced the expansion of its Center of Excellence in Hyderabad. He explained that this facility is the first of its kind established outside the United States and currently employs 600 engineers. The CEO also expressed the company's willingness to set up an Uber corporate office in Bharat Future City. Dara Khosrowshahi highlighted that the company is keen on further expansion and sought the Telangana government's support in this endeavor.
The Chief Minister noted that vehicle parking has emerged as a major issue in the country's major cities and the problem is likely to intensify further in the future. Revanth Reddy advised the Uber representatives to focus on setting up multi-level parking facilities. The Uber delegation assured that the company would conduct a study on this particular issue.
Further, Revanth Reddy explained to the Uber representatives that 'Bharat Future City' is being developed in the vicinity of Hyderabad. The new Future city, which is being built across 30,000 acres, is unique on a global scale. The state government has invited 500 world-renowned companies to the Future City. Several organisations have already come forward to establish their operations in the future city, the Chief Minister said.
He further mentioned that the Future City is located just 25 km from the Shamshabad Airport. Dara Khosrowshahi expressed the company's interest in establishing an Uber corporate office in the Future City. Uber Chief Business Officer (CBO) Madhu Kannan, President of Uber India & South Asia Prabhjeet Singh, Chief Technology Officer Praveen Nippalli Naga, and the CM's Special Secretary Ajith Reddy participated in the meeting.
