Dr. Zelalem Birhanu Taffesse, UNICEF Chief of Field Office for Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, accompanied by Dr. Sridhar, UNICEF Health Specialist, visited the MNR University at Fasalwadi, Sangareddy, and interacted with the university leadership, faculty, staff, and students on Friday.
Dr. Zelalem stressed that ‘Service to the community should be the core value of every doctor.’ He commended MNR Medical College's dedication to improving child health outcomes through initiatives like the MNR Medha – Genius Child Movement. This programme, launched on August 8, 2020, demonstrates a holistic approach to child development, engaging parents and promoting early childhood development.
Later, Dr. Zelalem addressed doctors and postgraduate students at MNR Hospitals, focusing on the importance of early childhood development. A one minute silence was observed to mourn the death of more than 200 passengers in a plane crash in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
