Staff member of Union Bank of India at Sree Ramakrishnapuram branch in Hyderabad, saved a customer's life by using presence of mind. On Monday, while withdrawing money from the on-site ATM of Union Bank of India, Sree Ramakrishnapuram Branch, a customer suddenly suffered a heart attack. He began sweating profusely, his hands and legs became unsteady, and he eventually collapsed into an unconscious state.

Other customers at the scene tried to help but could not understand what had happened. Amid the commotion, the bank staff came outside and promptly responded with presence of mind to assist the customer.

Among those who helped, the key person was Vangara Sridhar Babu, who quickly assessed the situation and administered CPR to the customer. He knew how to properly perform CPR. During the CPR, the customer vomited, expelling the blockage in his airway, and gradually the sweating reduced, and he regained consciousness.

The bank staff comforted him for nearly 30 minutes inside the branch. Once he felt stable, they advised him to consult a doctor before allowing him to leave. Thanks to the quick thinking and immediate action of the bank staff, a customer’s life was saved. The entire incident was recorded on the CCTV camera at the ATM.

Appreciating this commendable act, Union Bank of India Koti area head Satyam Palugula Simhaiah, Deputy Area head M Maheshwara Swamy, Nand Kishore Kumar, and Chief Manager Navneet Kumar honored the branch staff.
