Unpaid salaries, stalled promotions spark docs ultimatum to Government

The Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA) held a press conference on Saturday to highlight long standing grievances affecting doctors and healthcare employees across the Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP), Directorate of Medical Education (DME), and Directorate of Public Health and Family Welfare (DPHFW).

Key issues raised include persistent non-payment of salaries in TVVP, described as a serious administrative failure. TGGDA demanded immediate salary disbursement and the conversion of TVVP into the Department of State Health (DSH), as recommended by the ASCI Committee, urging the government to introduce the TVVP–DSH Bill in the upcoming Assembly session.

Other critical demands encompass stalled re-deployments and promotions in DSH and TVVP, immediate sanction of Peripheral Medical College Allowance in new institutions, strict implementation of the Career Advancement Scheme (CAS), adoption of NIMS pay scales, equitable faculty transfers, conversion of autonomous medical colleges like MNJ Institute into government institutions, creation of key administrative posts, and implementation of GO 142 amendments and time-bound promotions in DPHFW.

The association also called for curbing excessive powers delegated to Administrative Officers, and immediate release of pending Dearness Allowance, Pay Revision Commission benefits, Employee Health Care Scheme funds, and dues to retired employees.

Led by President Dr. Narahari, Secretary General Dr. Lalu Prasad Rathod, and other state executives, TGGDA warned that failure to resolve these issues promptly will compel them to announce further agitation measures.
