Education and IT Minister Nara Lokesh said on Saturday that values are as important as education and that he has reached this level because of teachers. Minister Lokesh was the Chief Guest at the golden jubilee celebrations of Don Bosco High School in Mangalagiri. Earlier, he unveiled a plaque at the school premises to mark the golden jubilee celebrations.
Later, he inaugurated the newly set up Science Lab. He garlanded the statue of Reverend Fr. Thomas Chinnappa, the founder of Don Bosco Prem Niwas School. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Nara Lokesh praised Don Bosco as the mother and father of orphans and recalled that the Don Bosco institutions made homes for the homeless and fed the hungry.
Describing values as “equally important as education, he appealed to the students to take “value based decisions” in their lives. He made it clear that whatever position he is in now, it is because of his students. He also assured to solve the issue related to the 350 students studying in Telugu medium since the removal of the aided system 3 years ago.
“All the problems in the society cannot be solved by one person or the system. The change we desire is possible only when we all work together. It is our responsibility to strengthen this school together. Let's make it the best school in the country,” said Lokesh.
