Water Board carries out field visit

In the wake of heavy rains, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (Jala Mandali) Executive Director Mayank Mittal visited SR Nagar, Venkatagiri and Yusufguda areas on Wednesday along with the Chief General Manager and General Manager. During the meeting, he discussed the grievances of low-pressure and advised the officials to take steps for their speedy redressal. 

The operations of the AirTech machine were observed at the ground level. Subsequently, he reviewed the progress of the AMS works and the pending complaints related to contaminated water and sewerage overflows. Similarly, the Jala Mandali MD Ashok Reddy instructed the officials on Wednesday that all necessary measures need to be taken in advance so that people do not face any inconvenience in the city due to heavy rains and that Emergency Response Teams (ERTs) should be alert. 

A teleconference was held with the concerned officials in this regard. ERT and SPT vehicles working on the ground have been advised to remain alert. He also called for identifying manholes which were affected by sewerage overflow frequently and taking preventive measures and for putting special focus on areas where water remained stagnant. 

To ensure safe drinking water supply, the MD stressed the importance of preventing contamination and maintaining appropriate chlorine levels in the water supply. He suggested the officials of GHMC, Jala Mandali, HYDRAA and police departments to work in coordination. He advised the people not to open manhole lids under any circumstances and asked them to call the Jal Board Customer Care 155313 for other details.
