State Medical and Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav said on Wednesday that due to the new SOP issued by the Medical and Health Department, as many as 99.1% of the doctors and staff were on duty during the Cyclone Montha and its relief operations. He appreciated that as soon as the warnings about the intensity of the cyclone were received from the Meteorological Department, the Chief Minister stayed in the "Real Time Governance System" Centre in the Secretariat and gave instructions and instructions on the steps to be taken from the state level to the village secretariats.
Minister Satya Kumar informed on this occasion that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda spoke to the Chief Minister and that the Centre has assured that it is ready to provide all necessary support to the state. Around 2,500 pregnant women who were close to delivery were rushed to nearby hospitals and special medical camps have been set up in the rehabilitation centers, he said.
Informing that anti-snake venom, anti-rabies vaccine and other essential medicines have been made available in the districts and boat clinics have also been set up in the areas where there were fishermen, the minister appealed to people to maintain personal and surroundings to avoid the spread of diseases and to drink boiled and filtered water only for the next few days. He also mentioned that emergency (108) and 104 (Mobile Medical) ambulances have been specially kept ready for rescue operations
