Water Board Joint Managing Director Mayank Mittal visited the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) in coordination with the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI). During the visit, he studied best practices being implemented in the management and reuse of treated wastewater.
As part of the tour, he inspected the Kadubeesanahalli Sewage Treatment Plant (STP). He closely examined the functioning of the treated wastewater reuse project being successfully implemented under the PITCH Pilot Initiative, a component of the AMRUT 2.0 Technology Sub-Mission.
He also visited the project site to observe the technologies being used, the operational framework, the treatment process, and the distribution and utilization of treated water. Later, he held detailed discussions with the technical team implementing the project to gain first-hand insights into the system's implementation, operation, maintenance, challenges, and best practices.
Officials said the study visit provided valuable inputs on the efficient use of treated wastewater, sustainable water resource management, and advanced technologies that could be adopted by the Water Board in the future.
