Whale Tank (WT) Biocatalysts, a leading startup accelerator, successfully hosted its third annual Startup-Investor Meet, WT 3.0, at the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad.

Conducted in collaboration with the Biotechnology Industry Research Advisory Council (BIRAC), Government of India, the event aligned with the national BioE3 mission to advance India’s bio-economy.

WT 3.0 focused on funding Deeptech startups across Healthcare, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Food, and Agritech. Building on the success of WT 1.0 and 2.0—which supported over 100 startups with 50+ investors—this edition featured 50 startups pitching to investors and showcasing products at kiosks. Highlights included the launch of WT’s pipeline product, NEXASWEET, a stem-cell attractant sweetener targeting gut health, demonstrating accelerator-led commercialization.

Over 73 shortlisted startups engaged with 46 investors, with several projects approaching USD 500 million in funding. Speakers, including Dr. Uday Saxena, Dr. Markandeya Gorantla, Prof. Reddanna, and Dr. Taranjit Kaur (BIRAC), emphasized translating deep science into market-ready solutions.
