Grain prices showed mixed trends across key markets on Tuesday, with wheat rising in select centres due to lower arrivals and ongoing government procurement, while rice remained steady. Maize prices also gained in some regions on tight supplies and firm demand.
In Indore, wheat rose by ₹40 to ₹2,610 per 100 kg as arrivals slowed, partly due to extreme heat and farmers staying away during the wedding season. In Vashi, prices increased by ₹100 to ₹2,700 per 100 kg, supported by procurement activity, while Kota prices remained steady amid balanced demand and supply. Maize prices in Indore climbed by ₹85 to ₹2,050 per 100 kg on reduced arrivals and higher demand.
In Davanagere, prices held steady with stable arrivals.Rice prices in Vashi were unchanged, with basmati varieties holding firm despite rising export freight costs, aided by government support measures.
