A 40-year-old woman treated for breast cancer at Medicover Cancer Institute, Hitec City went on to become a marathon runner, inspiring many others facing similar challenges. A few years ago, she was diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer (T1N1aM0). Following the diagnosis, the multidisciplinary team at Medicover Cancer Institute began a treatment plan tailored to her condition. She first underwent breast conservation surgery, followed by adjuvant chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

Today, five years after completing treatment, she remains completely healthy and cancer-free and is now actively participating in marathons. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Venugopal, Senior Medical Oncologist at Medicover Cancer Institute, Hitec City made it clear that if detected early, breast cancer is highly treatable and, in many cases, completely curable. Doctors also emphasized that breast cancer cases are increasingly being seen in younger women.  As per them, symptoms such as a lump in the breast, pain, changes in breast shape or skin changes should never be ignored.
