Completes 100 assisted robotic cardiac surgeries in just 155 days

Apollo Hospitals Jubilee Hills has set a world record by completing 100 assisted robotic cardiac surgeries in just 155 days using the da Vinci Surgical System. The achievement was led by renowned senior consultant heart transplant surgeon Dr Nagesh Ayalasomayajula and his expert team, demonstrating the increasing acceptance of robotic-assisted procedures in complex heart surgeries.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nagesh said that robotic-assisted cardiac surgery offers several advantages over conventional open-heart procedures. The robotic platform enhances precision, flexibility and superior visualization, enabling surgeons to perform complex heart procedures with greater accuracy, he explained.
Dr.Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director, Apollo Hospitals Group, stated that robotic cardiac surgery ensures consistency in clinical outcomes while significantly improving patient comfort and safety. Tejesvi Rao Veerapalli, CEO, Apollo Hospitals Telugu States said the achievement reinforces the group’s focus on innovation-led healthcare delivery.
