Yashoda Hospital's ‘Skull Base Endoscopy’ - 2 day international summit & workshop inaugurated

Yashoda Hospital's ‘Skull Base Endoscopy’ - 2 days International Summit and Live Workshop 2025 was inaugurated on Saturday by the Chief Guest and Health Secretary of Telangana State Dr. Christina Z. Chongthu, at Yashoda Hospital in Secunderabad.

Inaugurating the most advanced Centre of Excellence for ‘Robotic Neurosurgery & Neuro Endoscopy’, Chief guest Dr. Christina Z. Chongthu said, ‘This will be the first Neuro endoscopic center of excellence in India which serves as a center of excellence for the neurological conditions managed by the endoscopic or endoscope assisted surgeries which are very much useful for brain tumor patients in India. Endoscope in brain and spine surgeries has made significant progress in the last 2 decades due to its minimally invasive approach, greater visualization, ability to completely alleviate the disease and quick recovery,’ she added.

Dr. Ayyadurai R, Senior Neurosurgeon and Convenor of this Skull Base Endoscopy International Summit and Live Workshop said, ‘The Neuro-endoscopy offers solution to skull base diseases, brain tumors involving the deeper structures, cyst fenestration, hematoma evacuation and a minimally invasive solution to hydrocephalus.

This summit is one of its kind done in the field of Neuro Surgery for the First time in India. The highlight of this summit includes intricacies of endoscopic skull base anatomy taught through 3D anatomy sessions and the complex endoscopic skull base approach demonstrated on fresh frozen heads by renowned experts from India and abroad,’ Dr. Ayyadurai said.

Speaking on the occasion, Yashoda Hospital's Group Director Dr. Pavan Gorukanti said, ‘Skull Base Endoscopy International Summit is another feather in the crown in endoscopic trans orbital approach which is first done in India and will be demonstrated by the international and national faculty. Trans orbital approach is evolving and making breakthrough in skull base disease through an unexplored corridor. The summit also has a series of talks designed for disease based approaches given by the doyens in the field of Neurosurgery.’
