Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has cleared all pending scholarship dues in one go, releasing a total of Rs 365.75 crore to benefit students under the BC, SC, and Tribal Welfare Departments. The move addresses arrears pending since the previous government’s tenure and reflects the People’s Government’s focus on prioritizing education despite financial constraints.
The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that education is key to bringing comprehensive and lasting change in society. “Decisions are being taken to ensure that BC, SC, and ST students receive their rightful support without delay,” he stated.
As per official orders, Finance Department officials released the funds on Monday evening. The allocation includes Rs 21.62 crore for the BC Welfare Department, Rs 191.63 crore for the SC Welfare Department, and Rs 152.59 crore for the Tribal Welfare Department.
A review meeting was conducted at Praja Bhavan, chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, with participation from Finance and Welfare Department officials, including Finance Department Principal Secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania. During the meeting, officials assessed the pending arrears and finalized the release process to ensure timely disbursement to students.
This initiative comes as part of the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen educational support and remove bottlenecks in scholarship distribution. The Deputy Chief Minister reaffirmed that despite financial challenges, the government will not compromise on initiatives that empower students and contribute to social progress.
The release of Rs 365.75 crore is expected to provide immediate relief to thousands of students awaiting their scholarships, enabling them to continue their education without disruption.
