In preparation for Ramzan, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is taking significant steps to ensure a seamless experience for the city's Muslim community. Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Sobhan Reddy convened a special meeting with mosque representatives and officials from various government departments at the Deputy Mayor's camp office in Tarnaka on Tuesday.
Several key measures were discussed and agreed upon to facilitate smooth prayers and fasting during Ramadan. These measures include enhanced cleanliness with regular and special cleaning in and around mosques, and road maintenance ensuring repaired roads and proper lane marking leading to mosques.
Special cleaning teams will be deployed for waste disposal after Iftar. Anti-mosquito fogging operations will be conducted every alternate day, and dedicated teams will manage stray dog issues. The GHMC also plans to ensure fully functional street lighting across all localities, provide uninterrupted power supply, and maintain regular drinking water availability. Immediate resolution of drainage issues will be handled by dedicated teams.
Additionally, special Ramadan bazaars will be permitted to meet public needs, and coordination with the traffic department will help ease congestion near mosques. Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Sobhan Reddy emphasized the importance of these arrangements, aiming to make the month peaceful and convenient for all. Citizens are encouraged to cooperate and share their suggestions for swift resolutions.
