Atal Incubation Centre–Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (AIC-CCMB), in collaboration with ISB, DLabs and Aavinyaa Strategies hosted on Wednesday ‘AI-लान: Reimagining Healthcare’, the official healthcare pre-summit of the India AI Impact Summit 2026, at CSIR-CCMB, Hyderabad.
The day-long convening brought together senior leaders from government, research institutions, healthcare, industry and startups to deliberate on how artificial intelligence is moving decisively from promise to practice in India’s life sciences and healthcare ecosystem.Opening the summit, Dr.Madhusudhana Rao, CEO, AIC-CCMB, emphasized the convergence of innovation and investment. “Through AI-लान, we aimed to connect the bridges between deep science, real-world healthcare needs, and scalable enterprise.” he mentioned.
Dr. Vinay K. Nandicoori, Director, CSIR-CCMB, highlighted the importance of institutional leadership in shaping responsible and impactful adoption. Virtual addresses by NishantVerma, Joint Secretary, Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) and Paneerselvam Madanagopal, CEO, Digital India Programme &MeitY Startup Hub, highlighted the digital public infrastructure, startup ecosystems, and research-led AI innovation for healthcare in India.
A dedicated Startup Tech Showcase featured emerging ventures deploying AI across diagnostics, genomics, clinical decision support, digital health, and public health, demonstrating how innovation is translating into real-world impact. Supported by BFI, the showcase was inaugurated by Dr. Sarvesh Singh, Director and CEO, Telangana Life Sciences and Dr. Vinay K. Nandicoori, grounding startup innovation in adoption, validation, and scale.
The program concluded with a multi-stakeholder discussion on co-creating India’s Bio-AI stack, reinforcing that collaboration across science, clinical practice, enterprise, capital, and policy is essential to de-risk innovation and accelerate impact. Deliberations during the day echo a common opinion that healthcare in India will get immensely benefited by AI given its demography and diversity.
