Hyderabad: A nine-month-old infant from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, who was airlifted to Hyderabad in a critical condition, has made a full recovery after 45 days of intensive treatment at KIMS Cuddles, Kondapur.

The baby was initially treated for cold and cough but rapidly developed severe adenoviral pneumonia leading to respiratory failure. Despite ventilator support at a local hospital, the condition worsened, prompting an emergency air transfer by the KIMS Paediatric Intensive Care transport team.

On arrival, doctors diagnosed ARDS and pneumothorax. Advanced support including HFOV and inhaled nitric oxide was tried, but the infant required VA-ECMO support for 25 days. The child also faced multiple complications during treatment.
