The Amaravati Rajadhani Rythu Joint Action Committee (JAC) on Sunday lashed out at the state government, accusing officials of negligence and corruption in the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA). The farmers, who had so far exercised restraint, have now issued an ultimatum demanding immediate government action within ten days.

At a press conference held at Chandramouli Nagar, JAC Chairman Madala Srinivas said the committee had decided to give the coalition government six months to address their concerns and stated that ground-level CRDA officials are creating new problems instead of solving old ones. He alleged that some officials were collecting money from farmers and that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s orders were not being implemented at lower levels.

“Plots should be allotted to farmers within their own village limits, and banks must provide loans against their plots. But on the ground, none of this is happening,” Srinivas said, adding that infrastructure development should be completed in a timely manner.

The JAC criticized the government for not inviting farmer representatives to the inauguration of the new CRDA office and demanded that land donors be included in all committees formed in the capital region.

The farmers demanded that the Chief Minister, Deputy CM, and Municipal Administration Minister hold talks with the JAC within ten days to decide a clear timeline for resolving issues such as assigned land disputes, road-cut plots, and compensation delays. “If the government fails to respond, a large-scale farmers’ meeting will be held to announce the future course of action,” the JAC warned.
