Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday laid the foundation stone for Amazon's Data Centre at Bharat Future City and invited the global technology giant to significantly expand its presence in Telangana by investing Rs 1 lakh crore in the state by 2034. Calling the project a milestone in Telangana's industrial journey, the Chief Minister said Amazon's investment would act as a catalyst for attracting more global companies and transform Bharat Future City into one of India's premier technology and innovation destinations.

Addressing the ground-breaking ceremony in the presence of Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and senior officials, the Chief Minister said Telangana has set an ambitious target of becoming a one trillion dollar economy by 2034 and a three trillion dollar economy by 2047 under the Telangana Rising 2047 vision. He said these goals complement the Union Government's Viksit Bharat 2047 mission of making India a 30 trillion dollar economy.

Revanth Reddy noted that Telangana currently contributes about five per cent to the national GDP and the government's objective is to double that share to ten per cent through sustained investments, world class infrastructure, industrial expansion and large scale employment generation.

Inviting Amazon to scale up its investment plans, the Chief Minister said the company's proposed long term investment would not be sufficient to match Telangana's growth aspirations. He urged Amazon to commit Rs 1 lakh crore in Bharat Future City by 2034 and assured complete support from the state government. He announced that he would personally conduct monthly review meetings with Amazon representatives to ensure timely clearances and speedy implementation of the project.

The Chief Minister recalled that the Telangana Rising Global Summit held at Bharat Future City in December 2025 attracted nearly 3,000 corporate representatives from 108 countries, demonstrating growing global confidence in Telangana. He said the government has introduced sector specific policies for industry, tourism, energy, healthcare and sports while categorising the state into CURE, PURE and RARE zones to ensure balanced and sustainable development.

Emphasising that employment generation remains central to the government's development strategy, Revanth Reddy said Telangana is creating an ecosystem that offers seamless infrastructure, investor friendly policies and transparent governance. He said Hyderabad has already emerged as a global hub with its IT ecosystem, pharmaceutical industry, international airport and Outer Ring Road, and the next phase of growth would focus on creating a pollution free, future ready metropolitan region.

The Chief Minister outlined several initiatives aimed at making Hyderabad environmentally sustainable. These include plans to convert nearly three lakh RTC buses into electric buses, retrofit around two lakh diesel auto rickshaws into electric vehicles and continue tax concessions for electric vehicles despite a substantial revenue sacrifice by the government. He also reiterated the government's commitment to the Musi River rejuvenation project, Metro Rail expansion and the relocation of polluting industries from the city.

Highlighting the importance of skill development, Revanth Reddy said the Young India Skill University has been established to equip youth with industry ready skills and meet the growing demand for skilled manpower in emerging sectors.

The Chief Minister also appreciated farmers who voluntarily parted with their lands for infrastructure projects, including Bharat Future City, the Regional Ring Road and radial roads. He directed officials to resolve all pending issues, ensure fair compensation and create employment opportunities for families affected by land acquisition. He asked Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu and former MLA K. Laxma Reddy to hold discussions with protesting farmers and address their concerns.

Amara Raja EV facility strengthens Telangana rising vision

At Divitipally in Mahabubnagar district, the Chief Minister inaugurated Amara Raja's EV Cell Manufacturing Facility and described it as another major milestone under the Telangana Rising initiative. He said the government is creating world class infrastructure and transparent policies to attract investments while targeting a one trillion dollar economy by 2034.

Revanth Reddy revealed that discussions with a neighbouring state are progressing to secure 90 TMC of water for the Palamuru Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme and 30 TMC for the Dindi project. Praising Amara Raja for competing globally in EV technology, he stressed employment for local farmers' families, highlighted women's participation in the workforce and reaffirmed the government's commitment to sustainable industrial growth and pollution free development.

CM Stresses Strong Govt Schools, Skill Devp and Sports

Inaugurating the new building of the Girls High School at Kothakota, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said education alone has the power to shape the future of every child, enhance self-respect and transform society. He said the future of Telangana is being built inside classrooms and therefore the Education Department has been retained under his direct supervision.

Accusing the previous government of neglecting public education, he said the present government has already resolved long pending teacher promotion and transfer issues while strengthening government schools with improved infrastructure. He urged students to pursue education with determination and acquire modern technical skills through upgraded Advanced Technology Centres and strengthened ITIs.

Referring to employment opportunities in countries such as Germany and Japan, he encouraged youth to prepare for global careers. The Chief Minister announced that 27.5 lakh Young India Kits would be distributed before August 15. Calling himself a product of a government school, he urged students to take pride in public education, participate in sports and strive for excellence, assuring full government support for talented youth.
