Andhra Pradesh Governor Abdul Nazeer said on Saurday that the state will be a hub for global innovation and a destination for investment. The 14th convocation of JNTU in Anantapur was presided over by University VC Prof. Sudarshan Rao and Registrar Prof. Krishnaiah and was attended by the Governor in his capacity as Chancellor. Retired IIT Kanpur professor M R Madhav was the chief guest. Dr Satyanarayana Chava, founder of Hyderabad's Laureus Labs, was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Governor.
Subsequently, 41 students were awarded gold medals and 40,109 students were awarded degree degrees. Later, Governor Abdul Nazeer addressed the students. "The world is waiting for your thoughts and your leadership. We have to move forward with humility and carry forward the highest heritage of the university," the Governor said. He recalled that the state government had announced plans to set up a Quantum Valley and Quantum Computing Hub in Amaravati as part of the National Quantum Mission.
He said the state government has drawn up a roadmap to achieve economic prosperity, technological advancement, social equality and environmental sustainability by 2047. The Governor said that the state government is giving priority to reforms in higher education to prepare the youth to face the challenges of the 21st century and take up opportunities. He called upon the dents to develop their skills in line with artificial intelligence (AI).
Governor Abdul Nazeer was felicitated by Vice-Chancellor, Registrar and faculty members of the university and presented with a memento. State Government Secretary Hari Jawaharlal, State Higher Education Council Chairman Prof. K. Madhumurthy, Collector Vinod Kumar, former Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy, MLC Ram Gopal Reddy, Puttaparthi MLA Palle Sindhura Reddy and others were present.
