Minister for Revenue Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy informed stated that the matter concerning lands that have been in existence since the Nizam era in Telangana State, which lack proper survey records, will soon be addressed.
"Telangana State has 413 villages that either lack survey records or have not been surveyed since the Nizam era. The previous BRS government failed to address this issue over the past decade. In response, the Congress government, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, has resolved to tackle the problem. A pilot project will be initiated in five of the 413 villages, and based on the feedback gathered from this initiative, it will be extended to the other villages," Ponguleti said.
In a release here on Sunday, the Minister stated that the pilot villages are Salar Nagar in Gandid mandal of Mahabubnagar district, Kommanapalli (new) village in Bheerpur mandal of Jagtial district, Mulugumada in Yerrupalem mandal of Khammam district, Nuguru in Venkatapuram mandal of Mulugu district, and Shahid Nagar in Vatpalli mandal of Sangareddy district.
He said that a comprehensive survey will be conducted in the respective villages using modern technology in two methods: aerial/drone survey method and pure ground truthing method, and geo-referendums, cadastral maps, and rights registration documents will be prepared.
"The new method will bring clarity in land information, transparency, dispute resolution and land ownership, which will ultimately benefit farmers and rural landowners," Ponguleti said. The Minister announced that the re-survey will be conducted in the pilot villages and it will be expanded to the remaining villages based on the survey results.
