The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a major recruitment drive for unemployed youth, unveiling the Job Calendar–2026 for filling 10,060 vacancies across various government departments. Finance Department Principal Secretary Piyush Kumar issued GO No.81 on August 22, outlining a four-phase recruitment schedule through APPSC, the police recruitment board and DSC. The government said the recruitment plan has been aligned with its priorities of strengthening infrastructure, education, welfare and law enforcement and with the broader Swarnandhra@2047 vision.
The first phase covers 1,523 posts, for which the Higher Education Department had already issued notification on May 15. The second phase, comprising 3,231 posts, is scheduled for notification on September 15. It includes 149 Group-I posts, among them 11 Deputy Collectors, 36 DSPs, 14 Assistant Commissioners, 12 Municipal Commissioners Grade-II, 35 Divisional Development Officers and 10 Deputy Registrars.
The police department accounts for a substantial portion of the remaining vacancies, including 182 Civil SI, 116 AR SI, 542 Civil Constables, 205 AR Constables, 200 Communication Constables, 71 APSP SIs and 80 APSP Constables. Other vacancies include 164 Veterinary Assistant Surgeons, 196 Assistant Statistical Officers, 158 Firemen, 171 Jail Warders, 45 Horticulture Officers and 104 Endowment Executive Officers Grade-III.
The third phase will cover 2,311 posts, with notification scheduled for October 15. It includes 673 Group-II vacancies, including 200 Deputy Tahsildars, 176 Deputy MPDOs and 40 GST Officers. Another major component is engineering recruitment, with AEE vacancies across Irrigation, Panchayat Raj, RWS and Roads & Buildings departments. Power utilities together account for 629 AEE posts. The same phase also includes 400 Prohibition and Excise Constables and 50 Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspectors. The fourth phase, comprising 2,995 posts, will focus overwhelmingly on education recruitment, with 2,991 School Education Department vacancies to be filled through the Mega DSC, covering SGTs, School Assistants, instructors and other posts. Four Assistant Director vacancies in Adult Education are also included. The government has directed departments to immediately submit vacancy details, roster points and eligibility information to recruiting agencies. Recruitment will have to comply with the Presidential Order, reservation policy and applicable service rules.
The scale of the calendar is politically significant as well as administratively important: with police, Group-I and Group-II services, engineering, education and departmental vacancies spread across four recruitment rounds, the government is presenting the calendar as a structured pipeline of opportunities rather than isolated notifications. For thousands of aspirants preparing for competitive examinations, the September and October notifications will be particularly crucial.
