To fast-track Amaravati's development, the Andhra Pradesh government approved major infrastructure projects and a significant land expansion during the 50th CRDA meeting held at Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s residence in Undavalli.

A key decision was to acquire 20,494 acres across seven villages—four in Amaravati mandal and three in Tulluru—marking the largest expansion since the capital’s inception. ‘Amaravati will be a world-class capital in three years,’ declared Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana. ‘We have moved past previous delays and political hurdles.’

All seven proposals placed before the Capital Region Development Authority were approved, signaling renewed urgency to revive the stalled capital project. CRDA will invite Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for mixed-use and high-rise residential projects in Mandadam, Rayapudi, and Pichukalapalem, covering 58 acres in the finance and sports cities.

Four new convention centres will be built next to five-star hotels in Mandadam, Tulluru, and Lingayapalem. Each centre will span 2.5 acres. To counter rising construction costs, CRDA will dredge sand from upstream of the Prakasam Barrage through desiltation, with 159.54 cubic meters required over two years.

Additional approvals include a six-lane road-over-bridge on the E-15 corridor for better connectivity and land for memorials honoring Potti Sriramulu and Alluri Sitarama Raju. Sixty-five acres were also allocated to 16 key institutions, including the CBI, Zoological Survey of India, KIMS Hospital, and sports academies.
