The Andhra Pradesh government is preparing to bring long-awaited relief to thousands of unemployed youth in the state, with efforts underway to release the Job Calendar by Ugadi. Senior officials have intensified the exercise of collecting vacancy details from various government departments as part of the preparatory process.

According to official sources, the government aims to introduce a systematic annual job calendar to ensure transparency and predictability in public sector recruitment. The move is expected to provide clarity to job aspirants who have been waiting for a structured recruitment plan for several years.

As part of the process, all departments have been directed to submit department-wise vacancy positions, including sanctioned posts, working strength, and backlog vacancies. Officials are currently consolidating this data to assess the total number of posts that can be notified in the upcoming recruitment cycle.

At the same time, the government is carefully evaluating the financial implications of fresh recruitment. Sources said the impact on the state exchequer is being studied in detail to ensure that new appointments remain within budgetary limits. Only after completing this assessment will the government make a final announcement on the job calendar. The proposed calendar is expected to specify the number of posts, recruiting agencies, timelines, and examination schedules, enabling candidates to plan their preparation in advance.

In line with its earlier commitments, the government has already completed the recruitment of 16,347 teacher posts through the education department and 6,000 constable posts in the police department.

These appointments were among the largest recruitment drives undertaken in recent years and were aimed at addressing acute staff shortages in key public services. With these recruitments concluded, the government is now focusing on launching the next phase of appointments through a comprehensive job calendar.

Although expectations were high that a job calendar would be released last year, the proposal could not be finalised due to administrative and financial constraints. However, officials indicated that this time the process has reached an advanced stage, and the government is keen to meet the Ugadi deadline. If announced as planned, the job calendar is expected to mark a major step toward restoring confidence among unemployed youth and bringing consistency to government recruitment in Andhra Pradesh. An official announcement is likely in the coming days, which will provide complete clarity on the number of vacancies and the recruitment roadmap for the year.
