Allegations of illegal layout development in Survey No. 59 at Rekurthi along Jagtial Road in Karimnagar have intensified, with local residents accusing authorities of failing to act despite repeated complaints.

According to the allegations, an unauthorised layout has been developed on about 2 acres and 28 guntas of land without obtaining the required approvals from the concerned departments. The land is reportedly owned by the late Egurla Narayana along with Egurla Rambabu, Egurla Ashok, Egurla Srinivas and Egurla Ramesh.

Residents claim that several commercial establishments, including a school, petrol pump, wine shop, hardware store, marble shop and warehouses, have been constructed within the layout without statutory permissions. They further allege that house numbers and electricity connections have been provided to these structures, raising questions over how civic and utility services were sanctioned for allegedly unauthorised buildings.

Local resident Syed Sadiq alleged that Town Planning officials have remained unresponsive despite being informed about the illegal layout. He warned that residents would launch protests if the authorities fail to initiate action against the alleged violations.

Another resident, Mohammed Imran of Rekurthi, demanded that all illegal constructions be stopped immediately. He alleged that electricity meters had been issued to several commercial buildings despite the absence of layout approvals. He also questioned the reported permission for a liquor shop in an area where a temple and an Eidgah are located, urging the authorities to take immediate corrective measures.

Residents have sought a comprehensive inquiry into the alleged irregularities and demanded strict action against those responsible. An official response from the Town Planning authorities on the allegations is still awaited.
