Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu presented the state’s long-term development blueprint, ‘Swarna Andhra @2047’, at the 11th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog, aligning it with the Centre’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’. The roadmap aims to transform Andhra Pradesh into a prosperous, inclusive and globally competitive economy through a human capital-driven growth model.
Addressing the council, Chandrababu outlined a comprehensive strategy focused on eradicating poverty, generating large-scale employment, strengthening skill development, ensuring water and energy security, and accelerating economic growth through the integration of agriculture, logistics and emerging technologies. He emphasized that the state’s development agenda is centered on empowering people while leveraging innovation and technology to drive sustainable growth.
The Chief Minister highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s technology-driven governance model, which utilizes the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS), Artificial Intelligence-based analytics, real-time monitoring systems and predictive governance tools such as AWARE. These initiatives, he said, are enhancing administrative efficiency, improving service delivery and enabling evidence-based policymaking.
Chandrababu informed the council that governance reforms, transparent policies and a business-friendly environment have helped Andhra Pradesh attract investments worth more than Rs 23 lakh crore over the past two years. These investments, he noted, are expected to generate substantial employment opportunities and strengthen the state’s economic foundation.
Calling for sustainable economic development, the Chief Minister urged states to focus on infrastructure creation, policy stability and faster approvals rather than competing through unsustainable incentive-based investment models. He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring every family has access to seven essential services, housing, sanitation, drinking water, clean cooking fuel, electricity, digital connectivity and direct benefit transfers.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the state’s innovative P4-MBK 10-20 initiative, which encourages the top 10 percent of society to support the bottom 20 percent through philanthropy, mentorship and community participation. He described it as a model for achieving inclusive and equitable growth.
In the healthcare sector, Chandrababu showcased Project Sanjeevani, a digitally connected healthcare ecosystem focused on preventive healthcare, integrated digital health records and improved access to quality medical services. He also detailed major education reforms aimed at preparing the future workforce through AI-enabled learning, industry-linked higher education, lifelong learning opportunities and advanced skill development in emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing.
Expressing concern over Andhra Pradesh’s fertility rate falling below 1.5, Chandrababu called for greater national attention towards demographic sustainability. He outlined the state’s Population Management Policy, which seeks to address future workforce shortages, ageing-related challenges and long-term economic sustainability.
Reaffirming Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to cooperative federalism, the Chief Minister said the state would continue working closely with the Government of India and NITI Aayog to achieve the shared vision of a developed India by 2047 while ensuring inclusive growth and prosperity for all citizens.
