With the NDA government assuming power in Andhra Pradesh, the capital region of Amaravati is experiencing a resurgence in infrastructure development. Among the most ambitious projects currently underway is the colossal “Baahubali” Bridge, which is now in the final stages of completion.
Spanning the Krishna River, this engineering marvel is poised to revolutionize connectivity in the region. The NDA government has allocated dedicated funds to ensure the bridge’s swift construction, which has been progressing at an accelerated pace. Once operational, the bridge will eliminate the need for commuters to pass through Vijayawada when traveling to Amaravati. Instead, it will provide a direct connection to the highway beginning at Gollapudi, streamlining access and reducing travel time.
Previously, Amaravati’s road network lacked a direct bypass, compelling travellers to navigate through Vijayawada to reach national highways. The Baahubali Bridge will address this long-standing issue by establishing a seamless link to major transportation corridors. This enhanced connectivity is expected to significantly bolster Amaravati’s accessibility, fostering urban expansion and catalyzing economic development in the region.
The construction of the bridge is being undertaken by industry giants Navayuga and Adani groups, with work advancing at an impressive pace. If all proceeds according to plan, the bridge is anticipated to be open to the public by the end of April. This milestone will mark a transformative step forward in Amaravati’s infrastructure landscape, reinforcing the city’s strategic importance in Andhra Pradesh’s development trajectory.
