Andhra Pradesh is steadily advancing toward a high-growth trajectory with a strong focus on economic reforms, technology-driven governance and welfare-oriented development, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Tuesday while addressing the third Ministers and Secretaries Conference at the State Secretariat. The meeting reviewed the state’s economic performance, implementation of key policies and administrative reforms aimed at improving public service delivery.
Presenting an overview of the National Economic Survey 2025-26, State Planning Department Principal Secretary Piyush Kumar explained that India’s economy has entered a robust recovery phase. The national GDP growth rate improved from 6.5 percent in 2024-25 to 7.4 percent in 2025-26, while medium-term growth potential is estimated at around 7 percent. Inflation remained well under control, with retail inflation recorded at just 1.7 percent between April and December 2025, the lowest level in a decade. Agriculture grew by 3.1 percent, industry by 7 percent and services by 9.3 percent, reflecting balanced sectoral expansion. India’s exports crossed USD 825 billion and infrastructure growth showed major progress, including expansion of high-speed corridors and improvements in innovation rankings.
According to the presentation, Andhra Pradesh ranked eighth nationally in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), which is estimated at Rs. 17.62 lakh crore for 2025–26, recording a growth of 10.75 percent over the previous year. The state’s real GSDP growth of 9.88 percent is significantly higher than the national average of 7.4 percent. Sector-wise, agriculture and allied activities grew by 10.14 percent, industry by 9.15 percent and services by 10.67 percent. Per capita income rose to ₹2,94,507, registering a growth of 10.43 percent over the previous year. Agricultural production showed impressive gains with paddy output increasing by 15.3 percent, maize by 18.9 percent and fisheries by 12.4 percent.
The government has set an ambitious target of achieving 15 percent annual growth under the “Swarnandhra Vision 2030,” aiming to reach a GSDP of Rs. 31 lakh crore and per capita income of Rs. 5.15 lakh. Performance of departments and districts is being monitored through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure transparency and result-oriented governance.
Addressing officials, the Chief Minister stressed the need for team spirit, adoption of best practices and extensive use of technology. He called for revamping outdated laws and simplifying rules to benefit citizens, stating that Andhra Pradesh should become a model state in administrative reforms.
Chandrababu Naidu highlighted that global forums such as the Davos World Economic Forum are emphasizing Artificial Intelligence and energy transition, and Andhra Pradesh is actively adopting deep technologies including AI, quantum computing and data centers to improve living standards. He expressed satisfaction that Polavaram project works are progressing well and would be completed before the Godavari Pushkaralu in 2027. Amaravati capital construction has gained momentum and will be completed within three years, making it one of the most livable cities in the country, he said.
Reviewing achievements of the coalition government, the Chief Minister noted that Rs. 1,100 crore had been spent on market intervention to support farmers and ₹10,000 crore was credited within 48 hours for paddy procurement. Pattadar passbooks with QR codes and blockchain security are being issued, and ₹24,000 crore has been invested in irrigation development. He also referred to new initiatives such as the establishment of Quantum Valley in Amaravati, Google data centers in Visakhapatnam and a green ammonia project in Kakinada.
