In a significant step toward positioning Andhra Pradesh as a national hub in the defence and aerospace sectors, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held a high-level meeting with senior advisors at the State Secretariat.
The meeting included a detailed presentation from Dr. G. Satheesh Reddy, former DRDO Chairman and current advisor to the Andhra Pradesh Defence and Aerospace Hub. Dr. Reddy discussed strategies to develop cutting-edge policies that could make the state a frontrunner in the industry.
Emphasizing the need for a visionary approach, Dr. Reddy shared expert insights for shaping the upcoming Defence-Aerospace Policy. Discussions were held on establishing defence and aerospace hubs in key regions of the state, aiming to attract investment, innovation, and skilled employment.
Following the presentation, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu felicitated Dr. Reddy with a ceremonial shawl, recognizing his exceptional contributions to India’s defence sector. Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath, who also attended the meeting, called it a “turning point” for the state. “This initiative lays the foundation for Andhra Pradesh’s future in the defence sector and promises major job creation,” he said.
