In line with the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)’s guidelines, the South Central Railway (SCR) Civil Defence organisation undertook the Mock Drill at Kacheguda, Raichur and Aurangabad Railway Stations on Wednesday. The drill was a part of pre-war preparedness for strengthening emergency response mechanisms and inter-agency co-ordination.
The drill was conducted under the supervision of Udaynath Kotla, Controller of Civil Defence and Deputy General Manager, SCR along with Civil Defence Instructors &Volunteers, Scouts and Guides, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, civil defence volunteers and employees.
The drill featured comprehensive emergency response exercises, designed to evaluate South Central Railway’s ability to handle crisis situations. The main activities included activation of air raid warning sirens, ensuring prompt response to emergency alerts, implementation of crash blackout measures, testing protocols to minimize visibility, evacuation plan rehearsals, facilitating coordinated passenger movement to designated safety zones, operational readiness checks, Basic Life Support (BLS), first-aid administration, and rescue operations.
The Civil Defence Mock Drill serves as a crucial step in reinforcing SCR’s commitment to ensuring passenger safety and operational resilience. The initiative seeks to instil confidence among passengers and railway staff, making railway operations more secure and responsive to crisis situations.
Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, SCR appreciated the SCR team of Civil Defence Organisation and other members who took part in the mock drill exercise. The General Manager said that through regular training sessions and mock drills, SCR remains committed to enhancing situational readiness, protecting critical infrastructure, and prioritizing passenger welfare in times of crisis.
