Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, accompanied by his wife, Nara Bhuvaneswari, offered silk robes and traditional saree to Goddess Kanaka Durga at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy temple atop Indrakeeladri on Friday as part of the ongoing Dasara festivities. He prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the people of Andhra Pradesh and extended Dasara greetings to the state’s residents.

The Chief Minister and his wife were accorded a traditional welcome by temple officials and priests. Sthanacharya Sivaprasad Sharma adorned Naidu with the ceremonial pariveshtam before the couple proceeded to offer the silk robes and sare to the presiding deity.

They performed special rituals in the sanctum amid Vedic chants. The temple authorities ensured that regular darshan for devotees continued without interruption while the Chief Minister offered the ceremonial garments. Following the prayers, priests delivered Vedic blessings to the couple at the Ashirvachana Mandapam. Executive Officer Seena Nayak presented the deity’s seshavastram, while the temple chairman and executive officer gifted the Chief Minister a portrait of the goddess.

The CM said the government had made arrangements to ensure that devotees faced no inconvenience during the festivities. He noted that nearly eight lakh devotees had darshan of the goddess in the first six days of the celebrations, with people of all ages arriving to seek her blessings. The Chief Minister also referred to Vijayawada Utsav 2.0 and the National Saras Mela being held alongside the Dasara celebrations. He said the prominence of Vijayawada’s festivities among major celebrations in the country was encouraging.
