Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday underlined the dual priorities of “Healthy, Wealthy, Happy Andhra Pradesh” and a strong national economy, as they participated in two major events in Visakhapatnam — the Swast Nari–Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan on public health and the CII Global Capability Centre (GCC) Business Summit on economic growth.

Addressing the Swast Nari–Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan alongside Sitharaman, Naidu said women’s health was the foundation of family well-being and societal strength. He highlighted the state government’s universal health insurance scheme that provides coverage of ₹2.5 lakh to every family, while the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust covers up to ₹25 lakh for advanced treatments. “We are spending nearly ₹20,000 crore on healthcare this year alone, because when health suffers, the entire family is affected,” he said.

Naidu also announced that over 13,900 health camps would be conducted across the state as part of the campaign until October 2, offering free screenings for lifestyle diseases and cancers, maternal care, vaccinations, and nutrition awareness. The Chief Minister also stressed digital governance, citing the Project Sanjeevani initiative with the Gates Foundation for digital health records, the creation of a state data lake for inter-departmental integration, and WhatsApp Governance that already delivers 700 citizen services. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, joined Naidu at the event.
