Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay, flagged off Train No. 20101 Nagpur–Secunderabad Vande Bharat Express on Monday, which now includes a stoppage at Manchiryal Railway Station. The event was attended by Telangana Labour and Employment Minister G. Vivek Venkat Swamy, MP G. Vamshi Krishna, MLC C. Anji Reddy, DRM Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan, and other officials.

Bandi Sanjay highlighted the rapid development of Telangana under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, noting the success of the Vande Bharat trains nationwide. He shared that the 2024–25 railway budget for Telangana stands at Rs 5,337 crore — over 20 times the allocation in 2014–15. Around 40 infrastructure projects, covering 4,300 km and costing Rs 42,000 crore, are underway in the state. He also emphasized the redevelopment of stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

Welcoming the new stoppage, he said the Vande Bharat Express would now offer a fast, comfortable travel option for people in and around Manchiryal. The station itself is set to get major upgrades, including a 12-meter-wide foot overbridge, lifts, and escalators.

Minister Vivek Swamy stressed the importance of such stoppages at key stations like Manchiryal to benefit local communities. MP Vamshi Krishna added that better connectivity would support regional economic growth and aid workers in coal mines and factories.
