Warangal MP Dr. Kadiyam Kavya, joining Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Supaul for the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra,’ noted a clear shift in Bihar’s political mood. ‘This time, it’s the INDI Alliance in Bihar,’ she said, reflecting growing frustration with the Nitish Kumar-led JD(U)-BJP coalition ahead of the 2025 Assembly elections.
Dr. Kavya, speaking during the 16-day campaign by the INDIA bloc, highlighted key public grievances: joblessness, mass migration, and anger over the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists. Branded as ‘vote chori’ by the opposition, SIR is accused of deleting names of Dalits, OBCs, and migrant workers—sparking widespread resentment.
‘The people are done with false promises and voter suppression,’ Dr. Kavya said. Local voices echoed this sentiment. ‘SIR is robbing us of our rights,’ said Rajesh Mahto, a young vendor. Schoolteacher Sunita Devi added, ‘Nitish’s government has lost our trust.’
As the yatra moves forward, the INDIA bloc’s focus on voter rights and employment is resonating, especially among youth and marginalized groups. ‘Bihar wants a government that listens,’ Dr. Kavya emphasized. Her observations point to a growing appetite for change and a serious challenge to NDA’s hold on the state.
