BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao has called on the Chief Minister to step out of air-conditioned offices and see the ground reality of public hardships across Telangana. In a public letter to CM Revanth Reddy, Rao highlighted that farmers awaiting the Rythu Bhorosa scheme, students facing delayed fee reimbursements, and unemployed youth waiting for the job calendar continue to suffer.
He noted that the Rythu Bhorosa scheme, promised at Rs 15,000, has been capped at Rs 12,000 per farmer, and many have not received payments on time, forcing some into debt. Around 2 lakh government job vacancies promised through the job calendar remain unfilled, while pending fee reimbursements worth several hundred crores are causing distress among SC, ST, and BC students.
Retired government employees are reportedly awaiting approximately Rs 12,000 crore in post-retirement benefits. Rao said around 60 retired employees in areas like Khammam and Kothagudem have died due to lack of medical funds, while thousands struggle without functional cashless healthcare services.
Pension increases for senior citizens, single women, and persons with disabilities remain unimplemented despite promises: ordinary pension was to rise from Rs 2,016 to Rs 4,016 and for differently-abled from Rs 6,016, but payments remain inconsistent.
Large-scale demolitions under the Musi beautification and Gandhi Sagar projects have displaced nearly 800 families in Khammam outskirts alone. Municipal mismanagement has left urban areas unsafe, with stray dogs, pigs, and poorly maintained drains causing accidents and spreading diseases. Government hospitals remain under-equipped, with tragic incidents such as corpses being attacked by animals highlighting systemic failures.
Rao urged the Chief Minister to witness these realities firsthand and take immediate action to address public suffering across Telangana.
