Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Vice President and Congress In-charge for Sanathnagar Assembly Constituency, Dr. Kota Neelima, called upon people to celebrate the Bonalu festival with grandeur stating that the festival plays a vital role in preserving and promoting Telangana's rich cultural heritage and traditions.
On Friday, at the premises of the Sri Ujjaini Mahakali Temple in Secunderabad, Dr. Kota Neelima, along with MLC Balmoori Venkat and Executive Officer Manohar Reddy, distributed financial assistance cheques worth Rs 1,54,35,400 to 242 temples in the Sanathnagar Assembly Constituency for Bonalu celebrations.
MLC Balmoori Venkat said the Telangana Government is celebrating Bonalu, a festival that symbolizes the state's unique culture and traditions, with great prestige and commitment. Dr. Kota Neelima said the State Government has allocated Rs 20 crore for the Bonalu celebrations, recognizing the festival as an important State festival that reflects Telangana's cultural identity. She further directed officials to ensure uninterrupted drinking water supply, sanitation, electricity, security, and effective traffic management so that devotees can participate in the festivities without inconvenience.
