The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) strongly condemned the ‘disrespectful’ remarks made by Ministers Thummala Nageswara Rao and Ponnam Prabhakar against Maganti Sunitha, the Jubilee Hills bypoll candidate and widow of former MLA Maganti Gopinath.

BRS leader V Srinivas Goud slammed the comments, calling them shameful and demanding an immediate apology. ‘If Rajiv Gandhi’s family could campaign after his death, why can’t Sunitha’s children?’ he asked.

Speaking at Telangana Bhavan, Goud, along with Vinay Bhaskar and MLC Thatha Madhu, accused the Congress of arrogance and disrespect towards women. Madhu added that the personal attacks reflect the Congress’s fear of losing and urged the Ministers to apologize to all women in Telangana.
