The partially burnt body of a 27-year-old man was found at an isolated location near Himayatsagar in Rajendranagar early Sunday morning, raising initial suspicions of foul play.

The deceased was identified as Mohd Amer, a resident of Shaikpet in Tolichowki. According to family members, Amer had left his house around 10 pm on Saturday. On Sunday morning, local residents noticed a burnt body lying near the lake area and immediately alerted the police.

Upon receiving information, the Rajendranagar police rushed to the spot and began a preliminary investigation. The body was later shifted to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary for postmortem examination.

Rajendranagar Inspector M Muthu Yadav said the case is being examined from all angles. He clarified that there is no conclusive evidence at this stage to confirm whether it is a case of murder. “We are awaiting the postmortem report to ascertain the exact cause of death,” he said.

According to initial inputs from forensic doctors, there were no internal injuries or visible signs of struggle at the scene. Preliminary observations suggest the possibility of suicide, though police said the investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the death.
