Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar, announced the formation of a Central Investigation Team to monitor key cases and ensure criminals face strict legal action, not just arrest. Speaking at the Monthly Crime Review Meeting for October at TGICCC Auditorium, he reviewed case registrations, investigation progress, and highlighted the rising number of new cases and acquittals in older ones.

The Commissioner directed officers to register FIRs for every complaint promptly and warned against suppressing cases or diluting their severity. Negligent officers, he cautioned, may face suspension. He stressed speeding up long-pending cases and treating women complainants with respect.

He ordered clear plans of action for all investigations, with focus on cybercrime, women’s safety, street crime, drugs, betting, road accidents, and food adulteration. SHOs were instructed to monitor habitual offenders, enforce the PD Act, and enhance technical evidence collection to improve conviction rates.

Highlighting the rise in cybercrime, Sajjanar urged officers to upgrade tech skills, carry weapons on duty, conduct fortnightly weapon drills, and ensure complete command over their jurisdictions.
