Centre gave Rs 14 lakh crores to Telangana: Bandi Sanjay

Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Sunday said that the Central government had given Rs 14 lakh crores funds to the Telangana state in the last 12 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rule . He urged the state government to release matching grant as its share to utilize the central funds . He made these remarks at the inauguration of the Komaravelli pilgrimage site railway station.

He said that the Modi government was attaching the highest priority to road, rail and air connectivity and added that Over the past 12 years, the Centre had spent Rs 1,74,412 crores  on the construction of national highways in Telangana including the Regional Ring Road (RRR).

“We have allocated approximately Rs 1,073 crore for airports in Telangana. We have spent Rs 36,286 crore on railways in Telangana over the past 12 years. Railway development works worth another Rs 47,984 crore are currently underway. Out of the 7 bullet trains sanctioned nationwide, PM Modi has allocated three to Telangana. We are set to spend Rs 1.5 lakh crore on the construction of high-speed rail corridors connecting Hyderabad to Bengaluru, Chennai, and Pune.

The Cherlapally Railway Terminal, built at a cost of Rs 430 crore, rivals an airport in its appearance and facilities,” he said . Sanjay said that a Railway  project was being constructed in Kazipet at a cost of Rs 521 crore and added that work on the manufacturing unit had reached the final stagea
