The Chief Minister, Mr Chandrababu Naidu, on Wednesday thanked the Prime Minister, Mr Narendra Modi, for extending financial assistance to complete Polavaram and the capital city of Amaravathi, which are two key projects for the development of the State.
The Chief Minister called on Mr Modi at the latter's residence and the meeting went on for over 45 minutes during which Mr Chandrababu explained in detail the programmes taken up by his Government, financial issues and other matters. Informing the Prime Minister that the works of Polavaram and Amaravathi have been resumed and thanked Mr Modi profusely for extending the help to complete these projects.

Informing the Prime Minister about the establishment of ArcelorMittal Steel Plant unit in Andhra Pradesh, the Chief Minister sought the Central assistance for supply of raw material for the plant besides helping to get the necessary permissions at the earliest possible.
Mr Chandrababu sought the Central cooperation for the setting up of the steel plant in the State clearing all the technical snags.
Briefing the Prime Minister on the damage caused to the State by the previous government, particularly derailing the financial system, Mr Chandrababu told Mr Modi that the previous ruling dispensation has utilised five years revenue deficit grant in just three years and sought financial help through special assistance. The Chief Minister submitted a copy of the Swarnandhra Vision-2047 document and explained the targets set by the State Government as part of Vikasith Bharat.
He sought the Centre's cooperation to realise the Vision-2047 and also explained to the Prime Minister the proposed massive programmes next month, including laying of foundation stones and opening of some projects.
Later, the Chief Minister had a meeting with the Union Home Minister, Mr Amith Shah, the Union Finance Minister, Mrs Nirmala Seetharaman, wherein he explained in detail to them the poor financial condition of the State and the efforts that he is making to bring the State back on track.
He also sought release of funds from the Centre under different heads and sought a special Central assistance keeping in view the poor financial condition of the State.
The Minister for Finance, Mr Payyavula Kesav, the Union Ministers, Mr Kinjerapu Ram Mohan Naidu, Mr Pemmasani Chandrasekhar and Mr Srinivasa Varma, along with party MPs were present.
In the morning, participating in the birth centenary of the former prime minister, Mr Atal Behari Vaypayee, the Chief Minister paid rich tributes to him. Later, Mr Chandrababu participated in the NDA meeting held at the BJP national president, Mr JP Nadda's residence.
The Chief Minister also had a meeting with the Union Minister for Steel, Mr Kumarasway, and the Railway Minister, Mr Aswani Vishnav.
