US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said China committed to not providing “material support” to Iran during President Donald Trump’s summit with Chinese leader Xi Jinping in Beijing.
Speaking on ABC News’ This Week, Greer said the US did not ask China to intervene directly in reopening the Strait of Hormuz, though Beijing expressed interest in stability in the region. Greer also said US policy on Taiwan remains unchanged despite Trump’s remarks on a possible arms sale to Taipei. He added that trade discussions took place at lower levels, including talks on tariffs, agriculture, Boeing aircraft and medical devices.
