Hyderabad police have arrested a man accused of committing a brutal murder in Secunderabad on Wednesday. The incident occurred on Monday, on the terrace of a building in Kamala Nehru Nagar, Parsigutta. The accused, John Anil Lazarus, a 45-year-old recovery agent, allegedly killed his brother-in-law using an iron rod.

Investigations revealed that the accused and the deceased had multiple altercations over the past few days, primarily fuelled by alcohol consumption. On the night of the murder, the accused reportedly lured the victim to consume alcohol and later attacked him while he was asleep on the terrace of an ICICI Bank ATM building.

The accused was apprehended by Warasiguda police on April 30, 2025, while heading home. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime. Following his confession and the seizure of the murder weapon, he was produced before the Court for judicial remand.

The swift action by the Warasiguda police team, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police B. Bala Swamy and Assistant Commissioner of Police V. Jayapal Reddy, has been commended. Officers involved in the investigation will be suitably rewarded for their efforts.
