Tirupati police have made arrangements for the use of drones for night patrolling. The most powerful Matrix 4 thermal drone camera will be used to use these drones. As part of this, the drone was flown in Tirupati and suburbs in the middle of the night and patrolled at night. Till now, only “bluecolts” and rakshak police used to patrol on the roads during nights. It was not possible for them to cover all the streets, lanes and by-lanes.

Tirupati SP Harshavardhan Raju wanted to use the drone for night patrolling as well. It will be powered by a very powerful Matrix 4 thermal drone camera. As part of this, the drone was flown in Tirupati and its suburbs recently thereby identifying the vagabonds and some drug addicts roaming on the roads unnecessarily.

10 people were taken into custody and counselled. The drone will now be permanently made a partner in night patrols. For this, Tirupati city has been divided into three zones. Drone surveillance will be kept on each night in one of the three zones. The drone flies to an altitude of over half a kilometre into the sky and covers a span of three kilometres.
